Question:
How do I find out about my child's progress during the school year?
Answer:
Students in elementary school receive a progress report on a quarterly basis. The first and third reports are received during a conference between parent(s)/ guardian(s) and teacher. The second and fourth reports are sent home at the end of each quarter. Classroom teachers use a variety of methods, including Edline, between the quarterly reports to keep parents informed of their student's progress. Parents always have the option to call the school and request a conference with their child's teacher.

Question:
I am unable to receive Edline reports for my son, a new high school freshmen. I am still directed to the middle school page (where he attended last year) when I click on his private reports. How do I start to receive reports from his high school teachers?
Answer:
When a student transfers from one school to another (whether through progressing to the next grade level or relocation), the old school will remove the student and parent accounts regarding that student, and the new school will issue new account activation codes for new parent account and student account. Once activated, you will be able to see all of your student's information at the new school. You can contact the new school for the new activation codes.

PTA
Question:
My daughter is only 3, but she will soon be attending Kindergarten. Could you tell me if there is a Parent Teacher Organization at the school?
Answer:
Fort Wayne Community Schools is proud to have a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) in nearly all of its 51 schools, as well as a PTA Council that oversees district-wide initiatives that further enhance student achievement. For example, the PTA Council operates a clothing bank that provides not only school clothes but undergarments, toiletries and school supplies to students in need. At the building level, PTAs offer parents many opportunities to participate in the educational process, from volunteering to help with field trips to having a seat on the School Improvement Committee making decisions with regard to student management, budgets and special programs, PTA parents are an important part of the reason FWCS is making great strides in success for all students. We welcome your interest and encourage you to contact your principal for further information.

Because bus routes and stops must be continuously adjusted to meet the needs of our student community, we are not able to publish bus route information on the website. You can obtain the information by calling the Transportation Department's bus routing department at 260.467.1905.
